Happy Monday!

März 08, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes

I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend!! It’s monday again but I don’t feel tired or anything…It was a good weekend and I’m on edge to start this new week. I have a lot to do…! So let’s get it started!

Photography by Cem Cil

Sometimes I’m a fan of the gray skies and gloomy days in germany. It rained hard through the shooting but it wasn’t very cold..so spring is near!

Wore an OBEY parka, its definitely one of my favorites…they’re perfect for the rainy weather and that unexpected drizzle..!

JUMA Jumpsuits – hot or not!?

März 05, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes

First I have to say, I love my new zara harem trousers. I will take some pictures at the weekend for you and I swear, the new cuts of the zara collection are hot!

But whats about this JUMA Jumpsuits? I think this harem-cut doesn’t fit with a jumpsuit…!?

Things Are What They Used To Be

März 04, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Shoes, Stuff

Spring is coming can you feel it? Last week in Bochum it was such a agreeable climate and we enjoyed the first spring days of this year after this bitterly cold winter.

I wore a fred perry biker jacket. The shape and cut of this jacket is so beautiful! A levis straight tapered 470 jeans, not too loose, not too tight. OBEY scarf and a sessún matcha shirt.

Wore it with my H&M all-time-favorite stiletto-heeled shoes I swear they go with everything!
I love this scarf, got it some days ago and I have been wearing them non-stop…

Check out the  blog of the Fashion Moda Hype Gallery for more outfits.

Stay tuned…

Stay true with BAGUA

März 03, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Shoes, Shoes

Thanks to the french label BAGUA, I can put a little Kung-Fu feeling in my step.

The story started when graffiti artist Jay One and his friends watched a Bruce Lee movie. They loved the footwear, but couldn’t find the right pair in Paris.

Till this day the slippers are based on the traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi. The shoes are made in an old iconic design and with the elegant and light weight nature of the footwear.

The simple construction and comfortable fit of Bagua shoes allow for greater harmony between man and environment.

Small details that represent the Taoist philosophy, such as the octagon emblem on the elastic closure and the honeycomb print on the insole, are making the shoes lovable.

Mixing old and new myths, the Bagua mission is to create a stylish shoes that also encourage long walks and profound thoughts at a reasonable price (click here for stores and retailer).

Haze x Stussy

März 01, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes

Last weekend the legendary artist and brand Eric HAZE presented a special exhibition at the new Known Gallery in Los Angeles. The full scale exhibit featured more than forty pieces including all of the original artwork used in inspiring the collection, video installations, plus other work from HAZE’s archives commissioned by Stussy throughout their longtime creative relationship.

The exhibition also features an 8’x 6’ hand-painted mural, video piece and product display.

Stussy is one of my favorite clothing brand and. I love it’s collaborations with other brands and artists. Stüssy x Dr. Martens, Stussy x J Dilla Documentary or the Stussy x CLS Leather iPhone Case, to name some of the best stussy collaborations.

One thing of the HAZE x Stussy collection is the Livin Large Varsity Jacket. Since  spring 2008 I’m in love with college jackets, and my eyes still I can’t get enough. The jacket is available in royal blue/yellow or black/grey.

April in february – sessún

Februar 28, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes

The last few days I was in North Rhine-Westphalia to do a model job.

Recently in germany there is weather like it’s typically in April. Sun, rain, storm and the same again. Despite the wind and rain we shot a great deal of pictures. In spite of the weather, or perhaps because it, it was great and funny.

It was a pleasure to play with the clothes and laughing about nothing and everything with the photographer.

I’m wearing a Sessún dress, named “Rosie”. I love the cut and the sweet look of it.

Besides the shooting, I’ve met some great people, for example Izzy, who has given me one of her art-shirts. I’ll take a photo as soon as possible.

By the way…I listen to this song, which I’ve found at the Sessún website! It’s perfect for a sunday chillout.

Blood Is The New Black

Februar 25, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Clothes

Blood is the New Black, based in L.A is still creating a bevy of new tees, exemplifying the “wearable art”.
Designed by different artists, Brian Lichtenberg, Bryan Ray Turcotte, Keaton Henson, Keren Richter and Scott Barry and more.

I love the whole range of artwork by illustrators, designers and photographers.

Carhartt Heritage – Best for wear

Februar 22, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes

I’m a fan of simple and clean styles. I also like to shop in secondhand stores. But with the vintage hype the sense of vintage is gone. For me, second hand fashion should be favorable. In Berlin, for example, the vintage fashion is more expensive as new clothes.

To my delight Carhartt presents it’s SS 10 “Heritage” collection.

The collection is tribute to the Carhartt roots by picking up the best designs and materials of the early beginnings of Carhartt in the new heritage collection.

All pieces come with some nice heritage inspired graphic and the pants are all based on vintage cuts.

Great way to get that classic look without having to shop those second hand stores.

Bant for OBEY

Februar 21, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Clothes, Stuff, Stuff

Bant is a monthly music, cinema and art magazine based in Istanbul/Turkey. The mag has been published for over 4 years and the 50th issue is about OBEY.

For the past 4 years, Bant has been a platform for sharing and discovering local and international talents, as well as including and interviewing recognized names.

On the backside of a OBEY poster (out of the mag) I found interviews with the American artist Shepard Fairey, Ruth Fisher and others. Names that actually never had a chance to be inclued into the magazine, so far. I’m thankful to have this poster in addition to the magazine, because it’s written in english.

The magazine is completely in turkish, but unfortunately, the pictures and illustartion are inspiring me.

Shepard Fairey, and called it a phenomenological study of the subtle effect of advertising mechanisms in the urban metropolitan area.

The result was the first and most famous internationally Street Art series, whose reputation has been caused only by Banksy so far.

The OBEY artwork attempts to stimulate curiosity and bring people to question both the art and their relationship with their surroundings.

Because people are not used to seeing advertisements or propaganda for which the product or motive is not obvious, frequent and novel encounters with the sticker, posters and streetart provoke thought and possible frustration, nevertheless revitalizing the viewer’s perception and attention to detail.

Now I need a OBEY shirt…but which one?! This are my favorites.

The beat takes you over:
The Music Tee

Februar 19, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Clothes

I’m in love with The Music Tee! A new brand which combines digital music and fashion in one eye-and-ear-catching package. My favorites are the Ecstatic by Mos Def, the She Wants Revenge and the Plastiscines Music Tee. What’s yours?

Photography by Nino Halm

Music Tees are high-end (100% cotton) t-shirts that feature album art and a tracklist. Each shirt comes with a unique code that can be used to download the album associated with that Music Tee. Awesome! Isn’t it?

Ask here for your local dealer!

We’ve got nowhere to go, we’ve got nothing to prove
Instead of dancing alone, I should be dancing with you
This song is turning me on, the beat is doing me in
Or maybe it’s only you, but either way, lets begin…

The lights that move sideways and up and down
The beat takes you over and spins you round
Our hearts steady-beating, the sweat turns to cold
We’re slaves to the DJ and out of control

I watched her feet move, her hips they sway
Does a hair flip then starts to say
Oh, my God, it’s my favorite song
I pull her close and she sings along

We can’t slow down even if we tried
If the record keeps spinning so will I
She likes disco and tastes like a tear
Tells me don’t stop dancing and she’s pulling me near

Dominic Jones is one of the most important jewellery designer in this year.

He moved 2003 to London, to study jewellery design at the Sir John Cass School Of Art Ans Design. Today London’s It-Girls are wearing his jewellery.

The young designer twists rose, yellow, amd white gold into claws, thorns, chains and fangs.

It looks like painfully fashionable accessoires and goes well with the vampiric, gothic style. The Dominic Jones accessoires are available at Apartment in Berlin.

Alexander McQueen – you’ll never be dead!

Februar 11, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Clothes

“When I’m dead, hopefully this house will still be going. On a spaceship.”

- Alexander McQueen in the new LOVE Magazine

He was one of the best, and now he is a legend! It was a tragic message to hear of the death of McQueen. He was found at his home in London. Fashion designer Alexander McQueen has taken his own life at age 40.

He was a great designer, check out his TAG on my cloud.

McQueen was born in the East End of London on March 17, 1969. His father was a taxi driver and as a child he made dresses for his three sisters. As a teenager he apprenticed on Savile Row–where he made suits for Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev –before attending Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. It was his graduation collection that caught the eye of influential stylist Isabella Blow. The two became fast and dear friends until Blow committed suicide on May 7, 2007. McQueen dedicated his spring 2008 collection to her.

McQueen was named England’s designer of the year four times between 1996 and 2003.

Band of Outsiders – Spring / Summer 10

Februar 10, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Stuff, Stuff

Of course, I’m a fan of photography, especially in the field of fashion. What I see in the Spring / Summer Lookbook of the label Band of Outsiders surpasses everything!

The mood and the colors with an iconic Polaroid-aesthetic are hitting my taste to the fullest!! It’s brilliant how much influence the photography takes on the presentation of collections!

The lookbook is showing the versatility and timeless nature of Band of Outsider’s signature aesthetic. A list of retailers of the leading American label can be seen at Band.BandofOutsiders.com.

Handwear?! FST – shake your hands!

Februar 07, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Clothes, Clothes

Grenoble, a city in the south of france is the historical capital of the glove making industrie.

Since 2009 I saw more and more of gloves with an artistic approach. I’m not in love with gloves…because withem I can’t touch my iPhone ;)…but I liked how they look like! So…I asked google.

FST Handwear gloves are made from french materials of high quality. They used to be a new urban accessory infused with the boarding and street culture.

For now the FST gloves are available in Europe, mainly in France.

Hello Berlin!

Februar 06, 2010 Von: Mia Kategorie: Stuff, Stuff

I’m arrived in Berlin right now! I was out for a coffee with Sebastian Waters. Sebastian lives in Berlin and just started with his new studio Modus Operandi.

Sebastian is a part of designers, developers, and curators of content with an intense dream to find meaningful and lasting relationships with clients.

It was nice to talk with this creative head and to exchange some experiences. Tomorrow I’ll post some more Berlin photos. I’m glad to be here now. It’s time for a glas of wine with my girl.

I wish you a nice saturday night!

As announced yesterday, I was in the evening at the vernissage “Le tigre – J’ai mis un tigre dans mon vélo” RVCA presented and supported by Kinki at theflashgib in Stuttgart.

It was a great and funny evening. I collected a lot of new impressions, admired the photographs, installations and paintings and met some friends I haven’t seen for a long time.

It’s always great to meet familiar faces from France, England, Finland and Germany at a common place. Yesterday I had a shoot with my new favorite shirt. I will tell more about the next few weeks.
